Garmin bags approval for Gulfstream G150 ADS-B

Garmin has received US Federal Aviation Administration certification for an automatic dependent surveillance – broadcast (ADS-B) solution for the Gulfstream G150, bringingNextGen air traffic control compliance to global operators of the midsize business jet.

The upgrade is being offered at Gulfstream's service centre in Dallas, Texas. It entailsreplacing the G150’s existing transponders with D0-260B compliant units and the installation of a universal access transceiver and three antennas.

"The Garmin GTX 3000 Mode S Extended Squitter remote transponder and GDL 88 ADS-B datalink provides operators with a seamless and integrated path to meet the demands of air traffic modernisation initiatives around the world, [including Australia, Canada, Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and the USA]," Garmin says.

Garmin is now working on an ADS-B solution for the super-midsize G200, which should be available this year.
